Weekly Message from Dr. Moody
Week of 12/6/2020
Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with this week’s weekly message.
This Monday, December 7th we will be conducting our ACT Workkeys Makeup Testing sessions for all CTE concentrator students who have not taken the ACT Workkeys test as of yet. If your senior is expected to take this exam they have been notified through their RCS emails and in their Canvas accounts by Ms. Hensley and Ms. Thompson-Hairston. Please note that this exam is a mandatory state exam which all concentrator students must complete. All students in the morning session must report to the main office by 8:15am to be checked in; all students in the afternoon session must report by 12:15pm to be checked in. All students taking the exam must wear an approved face covering and maintain social distancing requirements.
This Wednesday, December 9th at 12:00pm we will be hosting a virtual registration meeting for all current Holmes Middle School 8th graders. Also, we will have our 8th grade parent night for all parents starting at 6pm virtually via Zoom. Please share this information with anyone who you know currently has an 8th grade student at Holmes Middle School.
Finally, this Wednesday, December 9th at 10:30am all MHS students need to log into their second period Zoom classes in order to receive the mandatory Say Something Anonymous Reporting App training from Rockingham County Schools. Say Something is a safety prevention program from Sandy Hook Promise. All schools in North Carolina 6-12 are required to implement this program based on NC Statue. Say Something is an anonymous reporting system that lets students, parents, staff, and community members securely share safety concerns. During this training students will be trained on how to report any concerning issues regarding potential safety issues and the well being of both themselves and their peers. Again, this is a required training for all MHS students and they must log into their 2nd period Zoom courses in order to receive the training on Wednesday, December 9th at 10:30am.
As always, we cannot wait to see everyone online, on time tomorrow morning, ready to work.
Thank you for your time, have a great evening, and Go Panthers!!
