Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with an important message.
Today, Rockingham County Schools shared with all RCS families our Emergency Preparation and Response plan for the COVID-19 Coronavirus. As part of this plan, we have been asked to remind parents and our community of a few key important reminders.
First, any student / family member of a student / or staff member is to inform the school if anyone in their household has traveled to high risk areas identified by the Center of Disease Control.
We are asking that students and staff voluntarily stay home for 14 days from the time he or she has left an area with widespread ongoing community spread (Warning Level 3 Travel Health Notice Countries) and practice social distancing.
Any student or staff member who has been absent 10 days or more will have to provide a health assessment from their primary care provider prior to returning to school.
Also, all RCS field trips and community events have been suspended starting on Monday, March 16th.
Finally, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association has suspended all athletic contests from midnight on Friday, March 13th until April 6th. This includes all practices or voluntary workouts.
Over the next few days, teachers at MHS will review proper hygiene and hand washing techniques with students. Our top priority is the health and safety of your child, please work with us over the next few weeks as we work through this time and contact your child’s administrator or guidance counselor regarding any specific questions.
As always, we cannot wait to see everyone here tomorrow morning on time and ready to work.
Thank you for your time, have a great evening, and Go Panthers!
