MHS School Closure Announcement
Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with an important announcement.
We have received information this evening of a COVID-19 exposure that occurred here at Morehead High School. This has impacted several of our classrooms and all grades within our school. We have followed all safety protocols recommended by the health department. While we cannot release the person’s name due to confidentiality, we can provide you information that there was a direct exposure at our school. Anyone considered directly exposed has already been notified.
We have consulted with the health department and out of an abundance of caution we are closing from Tuesday, October 6, 2020 through Sunday, October 18th, 2020.
Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th will serve as remote days where students will work asynchronous with no Zoom classes. Please make sure to have your child complete their work and their attendance log for each class.
We will reopen school for in-person learning on Monday, October 19th.
This means all in person-learning, extracurricular activities, and athletics are closed through October 18th. Again, in-Person learning and in-person activities in the building and on campus will resume on October 19th, 2020.
At this time, all learning will continue to take place through virtual/remote learning. We encourage each of you to monitor your student for symptoms and take them for a COVID-19 test if symptoms develop. In addition, if your student develops symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19, please notify me directly at the school.
Safety is a top priority and we appreciate your support as we work very hard to keep all of our students and staff safe here at MHS.
Thank you for your support and we hope you all stay safe in this time away from one another.
