Week of 9/13/2020
Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with this week’s weekly message.
This Tuesday, September 15th and Thursday, September 17th we will have our Freshman Orientation from 9am - 11am. All Freshman with last names A-L will come on Tuesday and those with last names M-Z will come on Thursday. All 9th graders are invited to attend even if you are planning on staying remote.
Also, this Tuesday, September 15th and Wednesday, September 16th we will have a drive through pick up of our Attestation Forms which must be completed prior to any student returning in the building. Staff will be available in the front traffic circle to provide these forms, student masks, and other important information from 11am - 4pm.
In order to free up our staff who are assisting with Freshman Orientation and our drive throughs, all classes will be asynchronous and we will not have our regular Zoom classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students will need to complete their attendance forms and work on their own time during these days.
This week marks our first interim period. We ask that you please check your students progress in each class on Canvas and contact their teachers with any questions.
Finally, an important message for all parents and guardians of our rising 12th graders. Beginning August 2020, students entering the 12th grade will be required to have a booster dose of the meningococcal vaccine (MCV). This new immunization requirement is due by October 30, 2020. This applies to all students, even when participating in remote learning. If your Senior has not already received this dose, please make plans now by contacting your student’s health care provider or the Rockingham County Health Department. For more information, please contact our school nurse.
As always we cannot wait to see everyone online tomorrow morning on time and ready to work.
Thank you for your time, have a great evening, and Go Panthers!!
