Week of 9/18/2020
Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with this week’s weekly message.
We are extremely excited to welcome our Panthers back to the building this week. As a reminder, students with last names A-L will come to school on Monday and Tuesday and students with last names M-Z will come to school on Thursday and Friday, unless approval for a change has been granted by administration.
All students returning to school this week, must have a completed RCS attestation form in order to enter the building. If you have not completed this form, please ensure you send it with your child on Monday. Copies of this form are located on our school website and the RCS district website. If you need to email a copy of this form please send it to Dr. Moody at email@example.com by Monday morning.
Student car drivers will park in the front parking lot by the new gym on a first come first serve basis. We are not selling parking passes at this time as we are on a split schedule. All student drivers must remain in their vehicles until directed to enter the building by MHS staff to undergo entry screening.
Bus riders will be dropped off in the bus parking lot and move to the front of the new gym where staff will be onsite to screen all students.
All car riders must enter through the front traffic circle where staff will be onsite to screen students prior to entering the building, students will be asked to please remain in their vehicles until staff members have directed them to enter the building. No car riders will be allowed to be dropped off in the back of the school.
Also, if your child is bringing their lunch to school, please note that microwaves cannot be used to reheat their meals and we cannot accept any food with restaurant logos on them in the building. For questions regarding food deliveries from parents, please reach out to your child’s administrator or guidance counselor.
Any student interested in our next virtual driver’s education courses taking place October 5th through October 16th needs to complete the form posted in their student Canvas shells. Students must be 14 ½ in order to register for the course. For specific questions, please contact our drivers education coordinator Ms. Sheila Thompson.
While we realize that reentry into school will look a bit different than years past and students will be asked to maintain social distancing guidelines along with wearing face coverings per the requirements we have to follow, our focus on developing relationships with students and ensuring a positive learning environment has not changed. We are extremely excited about the opportunity to have our students back in the building and cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow morning...some face to face and some online.
As always, thank you for your time, have a great evening, and Go Panthers!!
