Week of 5/15/22
Good Evening Panther Families, this is Ryan Moody, Principal of Morehead High School with this week’s weekly message.
This Tuesday, May 17th we will begin distributing yearbooks in the courtyard following lunch. All students who have purchased a yearbook by Monday afternoon will be invited to a yearbook signing and ice cream party during 5th period on Tuesday. There are limited yearbooks still available for purchase and you can reserve your copy online at jostensyearbooks.com, for any questions; please contact Ms. Krista Stewart as soon as possible.
Also, this Tuesday, May 17th we want to wish our MHS Softball Team good luck as they take on West Stanly High School for the 3rd round of the state playoffs. We wish you luck and know you will make us proud.
We would like to also congratulate our Panther Baseball and Track Teams whose seasons unfortunately came to an end last week; however, they had outstanding seasons and made our entire community proud. Great job and we cannot wait to see the bright future in store for these programs.
Attention current Juniors, all current 11th grade students will be REQUIRED to have a Meningococcal vaccine by the beginning of their 12th grade year. This vaccine is required for ALL students in North Carolina who will be entering 12th grade in the fall of 2022. Please contact the Student Health Center, your primary medical provider, or your local health department to schedule an appointment for the vaccine sometime this school year. You must turn in your complete immunization record to Student Services.
This Thursday, May 19th we will be taking any interested Senior to RCC for a Rockingham County Career Fair and Hiring Expo. Over 15 local companies are looking to hire graduating Seniors for full time permanent positions within their companies. Transportation will be provided and for any questions, please contact our Career Development Coordinator, Ms. Christy Hensley as soon as possible.
Finally, over the next few days we will be meeting with any student who is currently failing a course, failed a course in the first semester, or was not proficient on their EOC exam to introduce our Summer Bridge Academy. This Academy will take place from June 13th through the 28th. Please be on the lookout for more information coming home if your student is expected to attend.
As always, we cannot wait to see everyone on time tomorrow morning, ready to work. Thank you for your time, have a great evening, and Go Panthers!
